“... a benchmark for the variety. This must surely be one of the country's most decorated gewürztraminers”
Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review

Released in April 2024 the Johanneshof Gewürztraminer 2023 with its light straw colour
delights with its floral nose of rose petals and violets. Extremely powerful on the nose and palate, it features a weighty mouth feel and stunning spice characters. Gorgeously floral tones of roses grace the palate. Beautifully textured and well balanced with a touch of sweetness. This wine seduces with its elegance and power, finishing lengthy and smooth. Its the perfect accompaniment to Asian cuisine, hearty dishes or your favourite cheese board.

“This beauty consistently ranks among New Zealand's greatest gewürztraminers. Hand-picked in the Wairau Valley it is powerful, with a perfumed, spicy, vaguely honeyed bouquet. Rich and smooth, it has deep stonefruit and spice flavours, a hint of honey, a gentle splash of sweetness, and fresh acidity keeping things lively. It's already delicious.
Michael Cooper, The Listener, 2nd March 2024 (Review vintage 2022)

The Johanneshof Gewürztraminer is one of New Zealand’s most awarded aromatic wines. One of the most prestigious awards received for a previous Vintage (2004) of the Johanneshof Gewürztraminer is the ‘International Trophy for Champion Aromatic White Wine of the World’ at the world’s largest wine competition ‘Decanter World Wine Awards' in London (2005).

Johanneshof Gewürztraminer also features in Air New Zealand’s ‘FINE WINES OF NEW ZEALAND’ list of ‘Iconic New Zealand Wines’ every year since its inauguration in 2016.

Johanneshof Gewürztraminer was one of only two New Zealand Gewürztraminer to be named a ‘SUPER CLASSIC WINE OF NEW ZEALAND’ by Michael Cooper in his “Buyer’s Guide to New Zealand Wines” in 2010 and continues this status each year.
